People
who have never been to a church before or have not been since
childhood have more than a few fears about what to expect.
We work very hard to make everyone, regardless of background,
feel welcome. The people of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection
are likely your neighbors and friends. We come in all shapes,
sizes, ages, colors and backgrounds. We have in common our
hopes and dreams for lives that matter, for hope and joy,
for comfort and healing, all of which we have found in the
good news God has given us in Jesus. Our worship services
are of two kinds. At 8:30 a.m., we hold a traditional, “by
the book” kind of service, in which the ancient and time-tested
words, hymns and patterns of worship are used. Our 11:00 service
is more contemporary

in its
character. The music and words of worship are easier and more
familiar. Both services are printed in a bulletin and is easy
to follow, so you don’t need to worry about what to do and
when.
Children
are always welcome at every service. There is a time just
for children before the sermon. During the sermon at the 11:00
service, children may either stay or attend our staffed early-childhood
center.
Another
feature of every worship service is the celebration of Holy
Communion, the meal which Jesus gave his first followers.
We believe Jesus is still with us as we celebrate that meal,
inviting us to know peace, forgiveness, joy, hope and new
life. You are invited to come to the meal with us. Little
children are welcome to come forward to receive a blessing.
Whether you come to the meal or not, you are welcome to take
full part in the worship service with us.
